Youth Ministry

Children’s Church meets every Sunday during our Worship Service. This group is dismissed prior to the message. They receive an age-appropriate lesson and participate in activities and crafts to reinforce the lesson for the week. This class frees you up to benefit from the message while your children learn valuable lessons from God’s Word. Our current curriculum is Answers Bible Curriculum from Answers in Genesis Children’s Church is for kids up to 2nd grade.

Awana is a youth club for children in Kindergarten-Ninth grade. Our Awana clubs meet on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:45 PM during the school year. The year is highlighted by favorite activities like Family Fun Night, the Awana Grand Prix and Christmas Store Night. Awana is designed to introduce children to the Gospel, to teach them God’s Word, and equip them to minister, no matter what their age is. AWANA stands for Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed and is based on 2 Tim. 2:15: Make every effort to present yourself before God as a proven worker who does not need to be ashamed, teaching the message of truth accurately. Awana is fun time involving games, teaching times, and individualize study. Our dedicated team of volunteers are able to provide one-on-one support and encouragement for clubbers to help them make progress through the Awana program. You can learn more about Awana from the following video produced by Awana Intl.

Our Youth Group meets most weeks on Sunday evening from 4:30-6:30. That time is usually split between a teaching time and an activity time. A family or two will often volunteer to bring a snack for the group as well. About once a month, a special activity will be scheduled. We attempt to keep costs low so that everyone can be involved. The Lamoka Teen Retreat, the Northeast Fellowship Youth Seminars, and our annual Movie Night at Faith (including epic nerf wars) are all favorites. You can download the teen calendar for 2016/2017 to see what is in store. Please note, when we have a special event for teens we do not meet on Sunday! If your teen would like to participate, please complete the emergency medical release form and send that along the first time they attend.

Sunday School is provided for young people up through High School. Using curriculum (overview document) which is written specifically with each age-group in mind, our teachers provide weekly lessons which teach foundational truths from God’s Word. Significant Bible characters and narratives are covered, as well as core doctrines. In the older age groups, everyday ethics and Christian worldview are discussed. In the Senior High class, we attempt to prepare the students to assimilate with adults in the church as they graduate. Like the adult growth groups, the Senior High class meets to discuss the message and look for personal, practical application.
